Larkin guests help to repair church at Hay

The population of Hay was quadrupled Sunday of Memorial weekend. Eighty relatives gathered at the home of Dan and Jeannine Larkin. Guests arrived from Oregon, Idaho and each corner of Washington. Twenty-two guests were under the age of nine.

Todd Curtis, Ed and Nicki Lettenmeir, Dennis Moore, Larry Curtis, Dan and Jeannine Larkin, Joe, Dionne and Cole Evans and Larry and Bev Dodge volunteered their time cleaning the cemetery and repairing the Church at Hay which was damaged during a recent wind storm.

Next Wednesday, June 16, the Pastime Tavern will have their last monthly dinner until fall. The menu will be taco salad, Spanish rice and crustos for dessert. Serving will begin at 5 p.m.

LaCrosse/Washtucna track team Tuesday held an end of the year awards barbecue at the City Park. Special Award winners for male and female Iron Man awards went to Jacob Blankenship and Della Fleming. Best all around, male and female were awarded to James Vega and Anne Fleming. The track team combined with St. John Endicott. LaCrosse/Washtucna sent four to state including Jacob Blankenship, Della Fleming, Anne Fleming and Jessica Hardy. Jacob Blankenship was a member to 4 X 400 team which broke school records in LaCrosse-Washtucna and St. John-Endicott.

Eighth Grade promotion will be at 1 p.m., today, Thursday, June 10, in the LaCrosse High School pit.
