Fastpitch team honors seniors

First-year Coach James Blesoe paid special recognition to five seniors who led the Colfax fastpitch softball team this year.

The team advanced to the state 2B semi-final round at Yakima after winning the District 7 regional in Spokane the previous week at Franklin Park.

Coach Bledsoe said he planned to initiate a $250 scholarship program for seniors in the Colfax softball program.

Team seniors from the left are Brooke Waldo, Carmen Hall, Danielle Herne, Brittney Burke and Kayleigh Maltone.

Colfax sophomore pitcher Amy Hickman was named to the district’s first team, and Burke was named second team shortstop.

Maltone was named second team first baseman.

Also honored at the dinner was Michelle Miller who returned during the playoffs as assistant coach.

Miller answered the call after Assistant Coach Kendrin Maj was called out of town for the weekend.
