Third Zornes tourney set June 26 at Colfax

The third annual Peter Zornes Memorial Golf Tournament will be June 26 at the Colfax Golf Club. The tournament is the primary fundraiser for the Peter A. Zornes Memorial Neuroscience Scholarship at Washington State University. Lots of spots still available for individuals and teams. The cost to register for golf is $80.

Zornes, an Oakesdale native and 2003 honors graduate of WSU’s Neuroscience Program, was pursuing a medical career at the time of his death in 2005 at the age of 25. The family has established the scholarship in his memory to benefit outstanding WSU junior or senior Neuroscience students who will continue the work Peter had hoped to do.

The tournament includes a putting contest, box lunch, 18 holes of golf, barbecue dinner, golfers’ polo shirt, prizes and lots of extras. The grand finale for the golfers this year will be a $100,000 shoot out. Other events in the works are the dollar raffle, silent auction, and the pink ball contest. Registration for dinner and evening festivities (non-golfers) is $15 with everyone welcome.
