Football team, capital kids add events to Farmers’ Fest

Lots of activity and fun is planned for this weekend and Farmers’Festival.

Friday night the Tigercat football team will host a 5-on-5 Passing Tournament at the football field starting at 4:30. The varsity and junior varsity teams will host the Touchet Indians, the Kendrick Tigers and the Liberty Patriots. A hamburger feed will be available at the field, hosted by the Washington, DC 2011 kids. Concessions will also be available.

Saturday morning a pancake breakfast will be served at the Masonic Lodge. Cost is $7 for adults, $5 for children. Breakfast includes pancakes, eggs, sausage and juice. Espresso and Italian Sodas will also be served.

A silent auction will offer a variety of items, including many Tigercat items.

Cheri Garret reported on the LaCrosse Outreach. The Thrift Store is open for business at 204 N. Main.

Two new staff members for the store are Layne Martin and Charlotte Honn. The store hours are Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 1 to 4 p.m. and the first and second Saturday of the month from 1 to 4 p.m.

The food bank is at a new location, 110 N. Main. Donated furniture is available at the food bank.
