Colfax council heats up over fire chief rumors

Five Colfax City council members Thursday went on record as calling for a special council meeting to discuss personnel policy. The special session was called after council members said they had become concerned about personnel decisions at city hall, including what they believed to be the pending dismissal of Fire Chief Ralph Walter.

Two council members told the Gazette they found a report in their mailboxes early last week which outlined personnel matters in city hall. They said that report was part of the reason they decided to move for the special session.
