Sprint fans set new mark for Slough

Saturday’s ideal weather and large entry of sprint boats from around the northwest brought in a crowd which set a new attendance mark for Webbs’ Slough at St. John. Amanda Webb said the race crowd Saturday topped 4,000 for the first time in the four years the race site has been in operation in a converted pasture west of the golf course.

Previous high attendance mark was 3,200 fans who came to the August session last year at the St. John race course which is marking its fourth year.
