Summer showed its surest signs of arrival over the past week, as temporary stands with buckets of fresh cherries, berries, beans and onions appeared on the Main Street scene in Colfax.
Delayed by a late, wet spring, produce from central Washington and northern Oregon can now be purchased in Colfax.
“We’re late getting here this year because of the late harvest over there,” said Irene Eveland, a vendor from Plummer. “It’s all about a month late this year.”
