High-powered winds swept this giant cottonwood tree into the west end of Patricia Sessa’s home on the south hill in Colfax Monday night. Colfax fire crews responded at 6:22 p.m. to 404 E. Fairview. An Avista crew was called to the scene to disconnect electrical service. Winds swept across all of eastern Washington Monday, darkening skies with the dust of topsoil blown off fields.
