Dusty guests arrive from New Mexico, Italy

Sharon Urtaza, daughter of Virginia Jones Edwards and Neal Edwards, is visiting with Bryan Jones and Urtaza’s aunt, Fran Jones. Sharon is accompanied by her youngest son Cristien and his friend Josh, all from Las Cruces, N.M.

Grandchildren Meggie and Damien Perron, Chatillon, Italy, arrived July 5 to spend time with Bryan and Fran Jones.

Apricots are ripe this week at Warm Springs Ranch on the Snake River. There is a good crop this year and price is $.60 per pound. Call Bryan Jones for a U-pick appointment.

Carrie Pitts and Jen Hammons and children spent the weekend on the farm with their parents/grandparents, Kim and Cindy Pitts. Monday, they returned to the Hammons home in Boise where Carrie will spend a week before returning to her own home in Phoenix.

Sunday visitors of Art and Colene Sager were Andy and Sheila Slinkard of Mesa.

Word has been received of the death of Bill Hallett, 84, in Arizona City, Ariz.

He died after a short illness.

Hallett was a native of Colfax, graduate from Colfax High and Eastern Washington State College, served in the U.S. Navy, and was former teacher and coach at LaCrosse High School from 1957 to 1960 where the basketball team went to state tournaments all three years he was their coach.

He is survived by his wife Karen, four children, Vickie, Stacy, Boone and Keeley, siblings Marge, Betsy, Jack and Bob and former Dusty residents, nieces Jacquie Lambert Langford, Jill Lambert Mitz and nephew Charlie “Chuck” Lambert. Services will be held at a later date in his former home of Sacramento, Calif.
