Glorfield family reunion brings 66

The Glorfield family gathered at the St. John Community Center, June 27, for their 52nd annual reunion.

Sixty-six members and guests attended.

Joe Curtis gave the table grace for the noon potluck meal.

Sue Blakemore, emcee, read an inspirational poem and named departed members Bill Mills, Jack R. Glorfield, Clyde Boyle, Maurice Jorgens, Logan Jorgens, Roger Trunkey, Lonn Murray and Ronald Schuster.

She thanked all members for attending and helping to make the reunion successful.

She asked all attending to honor the elders of the J. P. Glorfield clan, Doris and Ogden Eriksen, Alva May and Don Jordan, Bernice Glorfield, Benny Glorfield, Lila and John Novak, and Patsy Schuster.

Sue encouraged the younger generations to become involved to keep the family reunion tradition alive.

She also had assembled a scrapbook of many family pictures for all to view.

Jeanne Murray, Dona O’ Shaughnessey, and Marie Kelseth were in charge of the auctions. They organized the silent auction and Bruce Maughan assisted by Tracy Eriksen did the live auction consisting of larger white elephant treasures.

A 53rd reunion will be June 26, 2011, at the same place.
