Colfax swimmers win; SJE girls stroke to 4-point win

Colfax swimmers rolled up 319 points to top a four team novice league meet last Thursday at the Colfax pool St. John/Endicott finished in second place with 127 points, but the Eagle girls actually edged Colfax 121-118 on their side of the competition.

Garfield Palouse booked 113 points, and Oakesdale booked 7.

Colfax 12-under swimmers Scout Cai and Jack Ross rolled through all six individual events undefeated. Cai also teamed with other 12-under Colfax girls to win the medley and freestyle relays to wrap up an all-blue day.

St. John/Endicott’s Drew Brewer took three of four individual events in the eight-under girls class, and Evan Weagraff of Garfield/Palouse took three of four in the 10-under class. He came close to a sweep in the junior bracket when he finished just .03 behind Calvin Nelson of Colfax in the breaststroke.

Brianna Reynolds of Colfax won four of six individual events in the senior girls class. Katie Renstrom of Garfield/Palouse edged Reynolds in both of the freestyle races.
