A front showroom window broken out at Arrow Machinery on Highway 195 early July 22 and thousands of dollars worth of merchandise were discovered missing from the showroom. Among the missing items were several Stihl chainsaws, trimmers, cut-off machines and blowers, according to a report by Deputy Sgt. Rick McNannay.
He reported deputies were dispatched at about 1 a.m. to a burglary in progress report at the building. When deputies arrived at the scene, they first entered the building to determine whether a suspect was still on the premises.
Colfax police assisted at the scene. They searched nearby buildings and discovered a gate at the Department of Transportation yard north of Arrow had been pried open. A DOT pickup truck was later located abandoned on the Hume Road northeast of Arrow and deputies affirmed the truck had been taken from the equipment yard.
They urge anyone with information on the crimes to contact the sheriff’s office or local police.
