Barbara A. Seaman
A memorial service for Barbara A. Seaman, 80, resident of Tekoa since 1956, will be Sunday, Aug. 8, at noon at the Tekoa Community Church. She died Sunday, July 25, 2010, in Tekoa from a heart attack.
Born Barbara Ann Kile Oct. 15, 1929, in Thornton, to Bill M. and Rhoda Lucille Foust Kile, she was raised in Benewah County, Idaho, and attended schools at Plummer.
She married Donald W. Smith in September of 1946, and the couple made their home in Pierre, S. D. until 1956 when they moved to Tekoa. They were later divorced.
She married W. Vernon (Bud) Seaman Oct. 15, 1983, in Coeur d’Alene. The couple made their home in Tekoa.
Mr. Seaman died in October of 2004.
Barbara worked for Early Dawn Dairy in Tekoa during the 1960s and early 1970s. She later worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a rural mail carrier in the Tekoa and Spokane areas. She retired from the Postal Service in 1993.
Barbara was a member of the Tekoa Community Church, and a longtime supporter of the Tekoa Ambulance Fund. She was one of the first EMTs in Tekoa.
Survivors include two sons, Donald (Buddy) and Kenneth Smith, both of Spokane; three daughters, Lucille Wood of Nampa, Idaho; Edythe (Edie) Carroll of Kirkland, and Julie (Jules) Paulus of Spokane; two stepchildren, Carol Lynne Daly and Michael Vernon Snow, both of Salt Lake City, Utah; one sister, Rose Foote of Libby, Mont .; 15 grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren.

Juanita Thompson
Juanita Irene Thompson, 86, former Colfax resident, died June 14, 2010. She resided at the Lincoln County Nursing Home.
She and her husband, Alex (Sonny) Lust, moved to Colfax in 1973. Mr. Lust died in 1992, and she moved to Wilbur in 1995 to live near family members.
Born Feb. 10, 1924, in Arlington, to Roscoe and Elsie (Detillion) Thompson, she was the oldest of seven children. Her family moved to Miles and later to a place on Lake Roosevelt. When she was in high school, her mother became ill and Juanita had to quit school to care for her mother and younger siblings. She started baking bread at the age of 12 and did the family laundry on a wash board starting at the age of 10.
She married Floyd Garland at the age of 18 and a daughter, Kay, was born a year later. She and Mr. Garland were divorced and she married George Wesley. From this union Donna, David and John were born. They made their home at Fruitland until 1959 when they moved to Creston. She worked at Boone’s Cafe in Creston from 1961 to 1968. Upon divorcing Mr. Wesley, she moved to Davenport and worked at Edna’s Drive-In.
She married Mr. Lust in September of 1969.
She enjoyed gardening and spending time in her yard. At Fruitland she had more than an acre of land in garden and traded potatoes and carrots to the school in exchange for lunch fees for her kids.
Church worship was important to her, and she invited everyone she met to attend with her.
Juanita was preceded in death by a son, David Wesley.
She is survived by son, John (Charlene) Wesley of Sheridan, Ark .; daughters Kay (Mike) Powell, John Day, Ore .; Donna (Dave) Daniels, Wilbur; a step-daughters Pat (George) Morton, Yuma, Ariz., and Arlou (Jerry) Ives. Creston; a brother, Syd Thompson, Chula Vista, Calif .; two sisters Artha Thompson Henthorn, Lincoln City, Ore., and Kathryn Buckner, Sumner; nine grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
The family suggest memorials go to the Lincoln County Nursing Home.
Audry Repp
A graveside service for Audry C. Repp, 93, long time St. John resident, was Friday, July 23, at 1 p.m. in the St. John Cemetery. The Rev. Dave McCue officiated.
She died Wednesday, July 21, 2010, at the Whitman Health & Rehab Center in Colfax.
Born March 24, 1917, in Devers, Texas, to Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Stacy, she met Elmer Theodore Repp while he was serving in the U.S. Army. They were married Aug. 21, 1954, in Boise, Idaho. They settled in St. John where Audry kept busy as a homemaker and Elmer farmed and owned and operated a service station. Audry was an active member of the St. John Methodist Church. She played the piano and organ for most of her life and loved music. She also loved her cats.
Mr. Repp died Feb. 9, 1995.

Myrene Mindermann
A memorial service for Myrene Mindermann, 98, Colfax, will be Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 11 a.m. in the Church of the Nazarene in Colfax. A graveside service will follow at Fairmont Cemetery in Spokane at 6:30 p.m. Mrs. Mindermann died last Tuesday, July 20, 2010.
She was born Aug. 21, 1911, in a sod hut in Higham, Mont.
Mrs. Mindermann moved to Colfax 14 years ago to reside near her daughter, Gayle Buri of Colfax. She was a former long-time employee of the Crescent Department Store in Spokane.
She enjoyed painting, writing, and poetry and attending the Hillyard Senior Center. She also baked cakes for weddings and other family events.
She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Glen Gardner and Edwin Mindermann.
Surviving are five children, Jim (Sherrill) Gardner, Spokane Valley; Phil (Merry) Gardner, Kelso; Don (Patti) Gardner, Blaine; Janetta Van Doren (Carl) Rude, Valley, and Gale (Dale) Buri, Colfax; step-children, Vernon and Loren Mindermann; Kathy Rojan, and Marilyn Harrison; a brother, Gerald Campbell; a sister, Sandy Greene, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great- grandchildren. .
The family suggests memorials go to the Colfax Church of the Nazarene or Union Gospel Mission.
Sharp rite Aug. 7
A memorial service for Glen E. Sharp, Jr., 81, a 35-year resident of Pullman, will be Aug. 7, 2010, at 1 p.m. in the View Room of Gladish Center on W. Main in Pullman with a potluck to follow. Friends are also encouraged to bring photos and memories of the deceased. Born Aug. 28, 1928, in Scottsbluff, Neb., Mr. Sharp died Dec. 28, 2009, at his home on Pullman.
