Conly and Betty Merritt hosted a pig roast in Hooper for friends and family July 18. Out-of-town guests for the weekend from western Washington were Ken and Nancy Gould, Theo and June Kirstin, Brad and Misty Braboy, Wayne and Cathy Randle and Erin Randle. They were joined by Tom and Windy Tevlin from Garfield, and Richard, Tracy and Bryce Bennett from St. John.
Visiting the Merritts July 24 through July 31 were daughter Annie Smith and grandson Alek from Warren, Ohio, and daughter Angela Dundore and granddaughters Stephanie and Madison from Fresno, Calif. They were joined on the weekend by son Thane and Martha Merritt, grandchildren Ben and Kierstin of Port Orchard, and daughter Tracy Bennett, her husband Richard, and grandson Bryce from St. John.
Ali Mock, granddaughter of Keith and Carla Danielson, spent July 13-17 with her grandparents at Hooper Crossing Ranch. Her parents, Tim and Erin Mock, along with sisters, Jill and Kate, all of Vancouver, joined them from July 19 through the 24. Ali celebrated her fifth birthday and the group celebrated by going to the Ritzville Water Park.
Anny May Tobin and her sister Mary White hosted another sister, Laura Downy of Midvale, Idaho, for several days in early July. While here, they took an overnight trip to visit another sister, Audrey Couch of Pullman. Anna May, Mary, Laura and sister Maggie Spangler of Viola along with Cathy Blankenship of Washtucna, joined together to take Laura home to Midvale. The group stayed for a short visit with local family before returning home the next day.
Mary White plans to return to her home in Pine City, Minn., after spending the summer visiting Anna May.
Jessica McGregor spent July 5-15 visiting a former foreign exchanged student and friend in Thailand. She was joined by her parents, Marty and Alicia Cramer, aunt Lisa Davis, and cousin Anna Davis, all of Winnemucca. The group visited Bua Srisilpa, formerly of Bangkok and now of Reno. They stayed at the family home, but toured in Bangkok and around the countryside. The group toured several Buddhist Temples, rode elephants, toured ancient ruins, met many family members and greatly enjoyed the hospitality of their hosts.
Abby, Gen, Lillian, and Olivia McGregor visited grandparents Marty and Alicia Cramer July 18 in Winnemucca, while there parents attended a meeting in Oregon. While there they spent time with many cousins, as well as their great-grandparents. They returned home at the end of the week.
