They have vintage items, apartment/dorm needs, kitchen ware, picture frames, ski clothes and equipment, an old teacher’s desk, a vintage 1958 bowling ball and case plus many other interesting items. Sunday, Katy Tellessen, fiancée of Justin Heaton, was honored guest at her bridal shower hosted by Lisa Beckley and Jill Pierson in the Beckley home near Benge. Locals among the 25 guests who attended the event included the groom’s mother Carmen Heaton, his sister and nephew Heather Heaton Reynoso and Hico Reynoso, visiting from Mexico City, Susie McNeilly, Jeanie Riley, Angela Broeckel and Karen Broeckel.
Saturday, Randy Broeckel of Bethel, Alaska, visited several residents in the area, including Mark Vogler and Karen Broeckel.
Among the 40 people enjoying the “Myrick Camp Out” from Friday through Sunday, were Ernie Wayne Myrick and family, Walla Walla; Mike and Michael Myrick, Spanaway; Rich Myrick and Janetta Johnson, Moses Lake; and Shannon and Dave Schaff, Walla Walla. Don and Carol Keeney joined the group for supper Friday evening. Sunday, they celebrated Lucky Myrick’s birthday.
Weekend visitors of Larry and Di Brink included John Brink and Brandi, Colton; Kevin, Amber, Ashley, Kloey and Ellie Brink, Richland; Tom Phillips, Las Vegas; and Mike Stine, LaCrosse. They joined the “Myrick Camp Out” for meals but camped out at the Brink home.
A week ago Monday and Tuesday, Karen Broeckel, Dusty, and her great nephew Jason Nolan, Colfax, joined Jeanette and Cliff Nolan, Colfax; Patty and Brett Wieber, Spokane; Austin Beasley, Waitsburg; and Matty Forrest, Australia, for two days of fun at Shore Acres on Loon Lake.
Brian Broeckel completed harvest operations Saturday and two of his truck drivers returned to their respective homes. Doreen Riedner returned to Genesee on Friday and Densie Kendall returned to Tacoma Sunday.
Linda Hennigar joined the “Wild Women’s Wallowa Weekend”, also known as “The Hennigarettes Plus One”, during Joseph Days in Oregon. Also participating in the four day camp-out, parade-going, rodeo-attending, playing and generally hang-out were Susie Hennigar, Charity Hennigar, Kristy Hennigar Powell, Colfax; Marilyn Hennigar, Harvard, Idaho; another Linda Hennigar and Ashleigh Hennigar, Deary, Idaho; and Karen Hansen, Oakesdale.
Recently, Carol Kyllo and her daughter and grandchildren, Tami Haas, Lexi, Lauren and Logan of Spokane, flew to Irvine, California, where they joined Tom and Julie Kyllo and Khristin and Tommy to watch Khristin play in the Premier Fast Pitch Softball Tournament for the Shamrocks of Virginia. This is her tenth year to play. She plays both shortstop and second base. Khristin will play for Princeton when she begins college there in September. The family spent one day at Disneyland. Kyllo and the Haas family returned one week later.
Aug. 7 and 8, Shirley Eggers hosted her annual Penawawa Reunion at her Warm Springs Ranch.

Reuben and Judy Stueckle returned to their home in Puyallup Monday after completing harvest Saturday with his brother, David and Phyllis Stueckle.
