FSA deadline looms for 2008 crop losses

Farmers have until Sept. 30 to submit applications for assistance for 2008 crop year losses under the Farm Service Agency’s 2008 Supplemental Revenue Assistance program.

The program provides crop disaster payments to eligible farmers that incurred production or crop quality losses. Assistance equals an amount of 60 percent of the difference between the SURE farm guarantee and total farm revenue.
