Lola E. Wall
A memorial service for Lola E. Wall, 95, a former resident of Palouse, was Monday morning, Sept. 13, at the Palouse Federated Church. The Rev. Corey Laughary officiated. A family graveside service at Greenwood Cemetery preceded the service.
Mrs. Wall died late Tuesday evening, Sept. 7, 2010, at Pullman Regional Hospital.
Born Nov. 22, 1914, at Palouse, to Roy B. and Leola Berry McKinney, she moved with her family to Alberta, Canada, where she attended school except for her fourth grade year at Palouse. She graduated from high school in Alberta, Canada.
She married Benjamin F. Wall Dec. 2, 1932, at Calgary and they farmed there until 1942 when they moved to Palouse where they continued to farm and raise cattle. They also farmed and ranched in Latah and Benewah counties.
In 1951, Lola started working as a cook at Washington State College and then worked as a seamstress in Striet-Perham Hall for 15 years. She retired in 1980.
Mr. Wall died in 1982, and she moved to Bishop Place in Pullman in 2004.
She was a member of the Palouse Roundtable, H.O.A Club, WSU Retirement Association and Roadrunners travel Club. She enjoyed painting, bowling, canning, cooking, playing bingo and raising roses.
She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Kathy Lueck and Gene Johnson.
Survivors include, two daughters, Lila (Neil) Johnson, Pullman; Faye (Chuck) Lueck, St. Maries, Idaho; one brother, Ray (Carol) McKinney, Kettle Falls; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
