Caleb and Lane Hannas participated in the Palouse Empire Fair. Lane placed with blue ribbons in both fitting and showing and market classes with his steer, while Caleb won grand champion market steer and reserve in fitting and showing.
Abby, Genevieve and Lillian McGregor also participated in the Palouse Empire Fair. Abby placed with a red ribbon in market classes with her steer and a blue ribbon in fitting and showing. Genevieve and Lillian each had a calf and showed in the PeeWee competition.
Keith and Carla Danielson had nine riders in their Sept. 11-12 Horsemanship/Obstacle Clinic at their Hooper Crossing Ranch. A barbecue dinner was served Saturday evening and the clinic ended with a friendly competition on the Danielson’s obstacle course. Adalia Hille of Ralston placed first; Joe Mara of Seattle second, and Marilyn Chavelier of Worley third.
Betty Merritt attended the 150-years celebration of her hometown of Fort Jones, Calif., Sept. 2 - 7.
While there, Betty stayed at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Bill Hammer. They were joined by Betty’s mother, Eleanor Iten, of Yreka, Calif., and Betty’s niece, Shannon Kelley, her husband Mike, and their daughter, Katrina of Shasta Lake City, Calif.
