A graveside memorial service for Meryl Lee Merrell, 75, a resident of rural Princeton, Idaho, will be today, Sept. 23, 2010, at noon at the Woodfell Cemetery in Harvard, Idaho, with the Rev. Kathy Kramer officiating.
She died Saturday, Sept. 18, 2010, at Bishop Place in Pullman where she has resided for the past two months. She was cremated.
Born Sept. 10, 1935, at David City, Neb., to Forrest E. and Dorothy Glover Jones, she attended school at Freemont, Neb., and graduated from Freemont High School in 1953.
She married Marvin Merrell Sept. 25, 1954, at Clarkston, and they made their home at Princeton where she was a homemaker.
She enjoyed making birdhouses, camping, quilts, crafts and making Logger Dolls. There wasn’t a day that went by that she didn’t marvel at the variety of birds and the deer that wandered through their backyard.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin Merrell, at their Princeton home; one son, Mark (Dona) Merrell, Princeton; one daughter, Cathy (Jerry) Reeves, Meridian, Idaho; three sisters, Patricia Niebaum, New Mexico; Carol Jones, Nebraska, and Myra Woodward, Montana; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son Steve Merrell, and grandson, Casey Merrell.
Memorials may be given to the Potlatch Ambulance Fund, Box 63, Potlatch, 83855.
