PNW Products achieve Non-GMO Verification

Pacific Northwest Farmers Cooperative has achieved verification for supplying products that do not include genetically-modified organisms, or GMOs. Fourteen foods grown by PNW will carry the “Non-GMO Project Verified” seal on its packaging.

Based in northern Idaho and eastern Washington, the PNW cooperative has 700 farmer members with its corporate office in Genesee, Idaho.

“PNW has always been GMO-free. Our grain and specialty products have been specifically selected because of their non-GMO status,” said Bill Newbry. chief executive officer.

“We know there is a real and growing concern about the food we eat and the methods under which those foods are grown and handled. We select the food products we grow as carefully as we select food for our own families.”

Fourteen products grown and sold by PNW underwent independent, third-party verification to ensure they contain no genetically-modified organisms. These PNW products include Green split peas, Pedrosillano café garbanzo beans, York white garbanzo beans, Shasta yellow lentils, Sunrise red lentils, Salute barley, Austrian winter peas, five varieties of wheat, and two varieties of mustard seed.

PNW believes its Non-GMO Project verification provides shoppers with a much-needed guarantee of food quality. “Consumers who are concerned about the foods their families eat demand that the extra step is taken to protect their health,” said Newbry.

In addition to being verified non-GMO, PNW products are certified Kosher and production facilities are AIB inspected to ensure the safest quality possible.
