Kameron (Kam) Arneson
Kameron (Kam) N. Arneson, 40, of Meadow, S.D. died Oct. 3, 2010 at the West River Regional Medical Center in Hettinger, S.D., after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer. She has been cremated, and a memorial service will be Oct. 8, 2010, at 1 p.m., at the Bison School Gymnasium in Bison, S.D., with the Rev. Bob Ingalls, officiating.
Kam was born in California Feb. 17, 1970, to Michael and Donna Poland.
Following a divorce, Donna married Bob Ingalls in 1974.
In 1977 the family moved to Colfax, where Kam discovered her “inner cowgirl.” She was active in a variety of sports, 4H, FFA and rodeo.
After graduating with the Colfax High School class of 1988, Kam earned a degree in Agricultural Education at Montana State University, where she met Eric Arneson of Big Timber, Mont.
Married in 1992, Kam and Eric first made their home in Helena, Mont., where she worked as an event planner with the Montana Stock Growers Association.
They later returned to the Arneson family ranch.
Three children blessed their marriage, Sydney is now 15, Reed, 13, and Ian recently turned 7.
In 2004 the Arneson family moved to a ranch near Meadow, S.D.
Kam loved ranch work, maintaining her home and caring for her family. Spare time often involved friends and neighbors, and it always involved horses. Kam was especially fond of roping. She found great enjoyment in teaching children equestrian skills. She was a long time 4-H leader.
Survivors include her husband, Eric, daughter, Sydney, sons, Reed and Ian, all of Meadow, S.D .; her mother and step-father, Donna and Rev. Bob Ingalls, Colfax; father and step-mother, Michael and Sandra Poland, Alameda, Calif .; and one sister, Kristen (Gene) Thompson, Colfax.
A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society and the Perkins County 4H Rodeo.

Mary E. Kuhn
A graveside service for Mary Elizabeth Kuhn, 90, former Colfax resident, was Saturday, Sept. 25, in Richland. Mrs. Kuhn died last Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2010, in Richland where she has made her home for the past five years.
She moved to Colfax about 20 years ago to live close to family members. She was employed as a bartender at the former Wheat & Barley in Colfax. She also enjoyed raising cats.
Mrs. Kuhn lived much of her adult life in Whitefish, Mont., where she and her second husband, Mike Gable, operated a lounge in the Empire Hotel. Before moving to Whitefish, she lived in eastern Montana where the family farmed.
Mary was born Feb. 28, 1920, to Ed and Sarah Line, in Dayton, Ohio. She was married to Eugene Creon and they had two children. They were later divorced and she married Mr. Gable.
She was also preceded in death by her third husband, Virgil Kuhn who died in Dayton, Wash.
Surviving are her daughter, Barbara Loveall, Richland; her son, Alan Creon, Colfax; two sisters, Lillian Westerlund, Whitefish; and June Kunzel, Hayden, Idaho; two granddaughters and six great-grandchildren.
Jeanette Carol Boyer
A celebration of life for Jeanette (Jenny) Boyer, 67, will be Saturday, Oct. 16, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Bethel Church in Richland.
She died Sept. 29, 2010.
Born in Spokane, Sept. 11, 1943, she lived in Colfax, Spokane and moved to Tri-Cities in 1987. She retired in 2008 and enjoyed talking to her mother every morning and attending her weekly church care group. She loved writing pen pal letters to friends in the United State and all over the world. She lived beyond her life loving Jesus.
Jenny is survived by her mother Lucille, children, Jackie (Toby) Ruhs, Jean Stanard, Jim Lewis, and Judy (Doug) Vo, sister Nancy, brothers Dave, and Roger and 10 grandchildren.
Rites said for Clausen
More than 300 people filled the Fairfield Community Center Saturday, Oct. 2, for the memorial service for Wayne Clausen of Rosalia. Out of area guests came from Montana, Idaho and California.
Mr. Clausen, a U.S. Coast Guard veteran who served during World War II, died Aug. 22, at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Spokane.
The service was conducted by the Rev. Mark Mewhinney of Fairfield. A slide show was presented by the Clausens’ daughter, Julie Himmeberger of Prescott.
The presentation of the flag was by the VFW and a US Coast Guard officer presented the flag to Mr. Clausen’s widow, Mildred. Taps was played to end the service.
A potluck lunch followed.
