Morgan Willson clocked a 21:16 to win another league run Tuesday on the hilly course at Northwest Christian. Willson opened a minute-plus gap on her league foe, Christina Anderson of NWC who clocked in at 22:17.
Tim Cornelius of Colfax won the shorter junior high boys race with a 9:57.
Maxwell Choka of St. George’s again dominated the boys varsity race with an 18:50 clocking.
The Crusaders took both the team scores, with 27 for the girls and 53 for the boys. Finishers for the Colfax varsity boys were Jackson Elfers, 10th at 21:22; Cody Wuestney, 11th at 21:40; Brock Morgan, 25th at 23:39; Joel Mortan, 27th at 23;48; Brad Cornelius, 28th at 24:47, and Duy Ha 36:34.
Clockings for other junior high boys were Mitch Barney 12:09, Jackson Ross 12:38, and Brady Wuestney 16:04.
League officials have learned schools in WIAA districts 5 and 6 have opted out of a race next week which would have been a first round pool qualifier for the state meet. That leaves the NE with the Oct. 29 race at Plante’s Ferry in Spokane Valley as the lone qualifier race before the state run.
