Respiratory Therapists practicing in the state of Washington are required to be licensed by the state. Respiratory Therapy is co-sponsored by the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society, and the American Society of Anesthesiologists.

Working closely with physicians, nursing staff and other caregivers at the bedside the respiratory therapist specializes in pulmonary (lung) and cardiac (heart) problems. Respiratory therapists can be found in all areas of the hospital attending to patients’ needs.

Respiratory therapists are trained to care for everyone from trauma and critical care patients to newborn infants.

Please join us in celebrating National Respiratory Care Week October 24 – 30, 2010!
