Morgan Willson, Colfax, Tuesday clocked 18:14 on the mostly flat Davenport course to notch another win on the cross country season. She finished three minutes ahead of the rest of a field of runners from five schools who took part in the pickup race as a tuner for the state qualifier at Plante’s Ferry in the Spokane Valley Oct. 29.
NE coaches penciled in Tuesday’s Davenport race after a cross district qualifier washed off the schedule last week.
Katie Largent clocked 27:02 in the girls race.
Tim Cornelius added another junior high win with a 9:18.
Jon Bennett of Republic won the high school boys race with a 16:32 and Republic won the team event with a 29. Davenport placed second with a 52.
Jackson Elfers led Colfax varsity boys with an 18:21, three ticks out of the top 10. Other times for Colfax were Cody Wuestney 18;22, Brock Morgan 19:58, Brady Cornelius 20:29, Joel Morgan 21:23 and Duy Ha 29:42.
Times for the other Bullpup runners were Daniel Thomas 10:06, Mitch Barney 10:43, Jack Ross 10:38 and Brady Wuestney 13:54.
