Sagers check out sites for flying confab

Art and Colene Sager and Jerry and Nina Richardson of Moses Lake drove to Okanagan and Omak to check out motels, restaurants and local points of interest for the Tri-state Flying Farmers convention they are hosting next May.

Blake Heaton is in the intensive care unit of Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane as a result of complications following recent back surgery. The most recent report indicates he has made some improvement.

Dick and Helen Appel recently attended the Washington State Sheep Producers convention in Moses Lake. Helen was re-elected president of the Washington State Woolgrowers Auxiliary. Eric and Shannon Appel attended the Saturday session and evening banquet. They watched their daughter Sarah model in the finals of the Make It With Wool contest.

Lisa and Travis Frei and girls spent a couple of days with her parents, Dick and Helen Appel, while their water pump was repaired.

Linda Hennigar spent 10 days with her grandson, Wesley, at his home in the Tri-cities while his parents, Tami and Jay Banks, were on a Caribbean cruise. Hennigar also visited with Ron and Linda Hiskey while in the area.

Steve, Carol and Kurt Moore attended the state volleyball tournament in Yakima last weekend. Their daughter/sister Lauren is on the Colfax High team.

Saturday, Jeanette Nolan, Colfax; Patty Wieber, Spokane; and Vicki Broeckel and Karen Broeckel, Dusty, enjoyed the Tri-city Artists Open Studio Tour. Former Hooper resident Dennis Brunson’s pottery and painting studio was the high point of the tour.
