Fall vows at LaCrosse gazebo

Lacrosse

The Rev. Dennis Bay officiated at the marriage of Jeanne LeClaire and Bob Brown in the gazebo at the LaCrosse Park Nov. 13. Jeanne was attended by her daughter, Michelle Magee, and Bob's best man was his son, Josh Brown. The gazebo was decorated with swaths of red and white gauzy fabric and bouquets of flowers. After the ceremony, guests went to the couple's residence for a buffet luncheon. The couple left Sunday morning for their new home outside of Miami, Fla.

Jeanne was the officer-in-charge at the LaCrosse post office for two years before her marriage.

Wallace Roberts was guest of honor at his 80th birthday celebration Saturday, Nov. 20. A catered luncheon by Nancy Meise was served at the Hooper Store which was decorated in autumn colors. The star attraction at the party was a cake in an exact replica of Wallace's 1971 Willys jeep. Tim Stamper provided musical entertainment.

Santa Claus will be coming to town, Saturday, Dec. 11. He will arrive at the Teapot Cafe and be available for free pictures and listening to Christmas wishes. There will be drawings for stockings filled with Christmas treasures and muffins and juice for the kids.

Also on Dec. 11, Susan Martin will have her inventory on display at the City Hall for Christmas shoppers. Also, at City Hall the NHS will sell Verda Bigsby's popcorn balls from 9 am to 2:00 pm, and again at that night's basketball game.

The FFA will sell Christmas trees and poinsettias again this year. The FFA uses the profits to help send students to the State and National FFA Conventions. This year Taylor Weekes attended the National FFA convention in Indianapolis. The trees will be in LaCrosse Nov. 30 and the poinsettias will be here Dec. 7.

The DC Kids will sell fresh Christmas wreaths made of Nobel Fir, Spruce and Cedar and decorated with a bow and pine cones and/or ornaments. A sample can be seen at the Bank of Whitman. Contact Stacy Aune or RaeAnn Fleming to buy one. Cost is $25.
