Serving Whitman County since 1877
The service our WHMC caregivers provided was rated higher than 99 percent of all hospitals by our patients during the third quarter of 2010. Surveys are sent to former patients who rate the hospital on items such as staff friendliness, how quickly call lights are answered, quietness of the hospital, speed of admission, quality and temperature of the food and physician interaction. The results are compiled and compared to a nation-wide data base of almost 1,800 hospitals.
Although we are proud of our high scores, we know we are not here simply to do good on surveys. We are here to provide healing and care for our communities. We are quick to remind everyone that the survey is an imprecise reflection of how we treat patients and each other. It is the actual personal care and attention that matters.
To honor that personal care and attention, we recognize high performing areas with awards each quarter. For this quarter, our Excellence Award went to Labor and Delivery. The Above and Beyond Award was earned by our Medical/Surgical Nursing Unit. Admitting won our You Make a Difference Award and Best Supporting Department went to Maintenance.
