All-NWC player

Kayla Johnson of Colfax, now a freshman at Whitworth College in Spokane, was named Northwest Conference player of week last week after the Pirates won the Best Western Caldwell Inn Classic with two wins. She scored 26 points in the first game against College of Idaho with four rebounds, four assists, two steals and two blocks. She scored 17 points the next night against Westminster of Utah.

Johnson is one of eight freshman on the team. She has averaged over 16 points in the Pirates’ first four games....
