First Wind, the Boston-based company looking to install up a 100-megawatt wind turbine farm west of Oakesdale, announced Friday it will offer a scholarship for students attending high school near the project site.
First Wind will offer up to a $3,000 scholarship to northern Whitman County students. To be eligible, applicants must have a minimum 3.0 grade point average and plan to enroll in earth or environmental sciences, engineering or technology after high school.
