Amber Terhaar of Pullman, daughter of Jim and Jessie Penman, Colton, and Brandon Merk of Pullman, son of Jim and Lisa Merk, Colton, were married July 24, 2010, in Colton. Bob Ingalls officiated at the ceremony.
The bride and groom exchanged vows in the middle of a wheat field near the home of the bride’s parents.
Music was provided by The Road Less Traveled, from Deary, Idaho, and DJ Cody Claussen, from Colfax.
The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a white, heart-shaped, full, floor length gown, made of satin with a tulle overlay. The dress laced up the back and had sleeves that fell off the shoulders.
She wore a medium length white veil and carried a large bouquet of white and coral roses tied with a white ribbon.
Maid of Honor was Amanda Terhaar, sister of bride from Pullman.
Matron of honor was Jessie Penman, mother of bride.
Bridesmaids were Saybra Morris, friend of bride, Spokane; Sheri Glaesman, friend of bride, Palouse, and Hailey Penman, sister of bride, Colton.
Best man was Brian Broemmeling, friend of the groom from Clarkston. Groomsmen were Doug Cuellar, friend of groom, Palouse; Greg Rodabough, friend of groom, Pasco; Jim Penman, father of bride, and Josh Terhaar, brother of bride, Lewiston.
Flower girls were Ella Cuellar, daughter of Doug and Megan Cuellar, Palouse, and Jayden Poulson, son of Branden and Maria Poulsen, Moscow.
The bridesmaids wore coral, strapless floor-length gowns, that gathered to one side. The flower girls’ dress was white satin with a tulle overlay and a coral sash. The bridesmaids carried a simple round bouquet of white roses with a white ribbon.
The reception took place under five large white tents in the wheat field. Guests sat at round tables covered in white linens. The centerpieces were photo boxes, which displayed the menu and photos of the bride and groom. Fresh assorted white wildflowers and greens were placed inside each photo box.
The tents were draped with small white wedding lights. Balloons and more lights filled up the area above the dance floor.
The bride and groom left the reception in a white limo and stayed in Pullman.
The bride graduated from high school in Colton in 2004 and attended Headmasters School of Hair Design in Lewiston and graduated in the fall of 2005 She then enrolled at the University of Idaho where she graduated in the fall of 2009 with a degree in Animal Science. She now works as a lab technician at BioTracking LLC, in Moscow.
The groom graduated from high school in Colton in 1995 and then attended Big Bend Community College in Moses Lake. He then went on to college at Washington State University and studied parks and recreation. He currently works at Colton Family Community Co-Op in Colton and is also currently the boys’ junior varsity basketball coach.
