Wrestlers from six teams invade Colfax mats

Lone home meet for the Colfax wrestlers Tuesday night brought in grapplers from Bi-County foes Liberty, Reardan, Lind/Ritzville/Sprague and from St. John/Endicott and Pomeroy, the SE power club. Entrants competed for more than two hours on two mats in the Colfax gym.

Levi Hardy booked two wins in the 160 class for Colfax, and Justin King finished with a 2-1 night in the 171 class.

SJE Eagles’ Thomas Newton in the 119 class and Wilson Lundberg in the 152 class booked wins for the Eagles who have a young team this year with two eighth graders in their lineup.

Many of the wrestlers who competed here Tuesday will be back in action at the Pomeroy Invitational next Wednesday. The Bulldogs plan to make the trip south to Pomeroy Tuesday, compete in a dual meet, sleep over on the mats and compete in the tournament the next day.

Tuesday at Colfax Kevin Knauff competed for the Garfield/Palouse Vikings. Knauff trains and competes with Pullman, but likes to enter B division meets when he can. He booked a 1-2 at Colfax Tuesday with a split against Colfax foes and a loss to Reardan’s Logan Zunker on a first round pin.
