Serving Whitman County since 1877
Charges were filed Jan. 5 in superior court against Skyler C. Sullivan, 23, Clarkston, who was originally arrested Nov. 8 in Colfax. Assistant Chief David Szambelan stopped a truck Sullivan was driving after receiving a tip from drug investigators that he would be going through town. Colfax officers were advised Sullivan would be driving through town “in a big red truck.”
He had been charged with delivery of methamphetamine during October, felony possession of a firearm and possession of methamphetamine at the time of the Nov. 8 stop in Colfax. The report filed in court said Sullivan had been under investigation after agents had received information from an informant.
The report alleges a loaded Springfield Armory XD-40 caliber pistol was found under the seat of the truck after Szambelan obtained a warrant for a search. The charge alleges Sullivan is prohibited from possessing guns because he has a prior felony conviction.
A scale and glass pipes were also found in a pack which was in the truck, the report alleged.
Sullivan was summoned to appear in court Jan. 14.
