Mark and Kathy Vogler spent Christmas in Germany with their daughter, Anna, and son-in-law, Chad Assareh, who are currently residing in Ulm. They were joined by son Henry Vogler and Cari Thompson. The group traveled through the Ulm-Munich area, touring castles, cathedrals and eating all manner of wonderful food. Following Christmas, the group took the high-speed train to Paris where they enjoyed the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, numerous museums, cathedrals, monuments and all manner of wonderful foods. They saw the new year in with Parisian fireworks on the Seine near Notre Dame. The Vogler clan had a wonderful time.
Blake Heaton returned home last Wednesday after approximately two months in the hospital and rehab. He is continuing his rehab at home. Friends and residents are asked to call before visiting.
Guests at the Dick Appel home for Christmas were Phil Appel, Spokane; Sabrina Appel, Salem; Caroline and Rob Kunkel, Zack, Kade, Ellie and Luciene, Pullman; and Susan Appel, Pullman. Joining them for Christmas dinner were Steve and Dianne Appel, Dusty; Eric and Shannon Appel, Connor, Christopher, Sarah, Kyle and Sidney, Dusty; Dave and Alice Appel, Colfax; Jim Appel, Tacoma; Lisa and Travis Frei, Miriam, Rachel and Emma, Colfax; and Deb and Bob Stavig, Jessica, Alissa and Scot, Vancouver. Joining the family for butchering were Barb and Bruce Wollstein, Kate and Jo and Pat; and Beth and David Lohmeier.
Mike, Spanaway and Michael, Yelm; Rich and Janetta and her daughter Kierstyn, Moses Lake, and Rob, Dusty, joined their parents, Lucky and Joan Myrick, in celebrating Christmas during the New Year’s weekend. Lucky and Joan also celebrated Christmas with Camille Patterson in Spokane the Sunday after Christmas Day.
Dinner guests of Dale and Vicki Broeckel last Thursday were Steve and Fran Maki, their daughter Sarah Smith of Moses Lake, Kim Gustafson and Tim Johnson.
Sarah Smith used the home of her parents, Steve and Fran Maki, as her base while she coordinated the Beef 300 Class, animal evaluation, at WSU from Wednesday through Saturday. Smith is the extension agent in Ephrata.
Loren Scaggs and Catherine Goff flew to Texas last week to attend the Eastern Washington University Eagles vs. the Delaware Blue Hens championship football game. They flew down on Wednesday, spent Thursday trying to find their way around Dallas, participated in a tailgate party and went to the game on Friday, traveled to Fort Worth Saturday and returned home Sunday. In Fort Worth, they toured the stockyards, watched one of the two daily cattle drives through town and attended the weekly rodeo.
Country Bible Church will hold their annual meeting after services on Sunday, Jan. 16. All are welcome to attend.
