Nordic club to host divide ski day Jan. 22

Palouse Divide Nordic Ski club will host a community ski day at the Palouse Divide Jan. 22 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will include a variety of Nordic skiing activities. Activities will include information tables with maps, trail information, park-n-ski passes and hot beverages. Free introductory cross-country ski lessons will be offered at 10:30 a.m. and noon. Some loaner skis will be on site courtesy of Hyperspud Sports.

Palouse Divide Park ‘n’ Ski area is located approximately 20 miles northeast of Potlatch on Highway 6. The area has been designated as a non-motorized winter recreation area for cross-country skiers and snow shoe enthusiasts.

Approximately 20 miles of trails at the Divide are maintained in partnership between the Palouse Divide Nordic Ski Club and the Palouse Ranger District of the Clearwater National Forest. The trails are maintained and groomed on a weekly basis.

Palouse Divide Nordic Ski club is a non-profit group of volunteer enthusiasts from Idaho and Washington.
