Rosalia offers GED prep classes

ROSALIA

Preparatory classes offered by Rosalia Association for Community Enrichment will be at the Rosalia City Library, 402 S. Whitman Ave., Saturday, Jan. 29, at 2 p.m. Classes will begin with a brief description of what is available through the workshops. The classes will be tailored to meet the needs of each individual attending. Upon completion of the preparatory classes, RACE will assist students in signing up for taking the General Equivalency Degree test.

Approximately 100 people attended the benefit dinner for the Rebecca Coon Memorial Fund Jan. 10 in the Rosalia school cafeteria. Many generous residents from Rosalia and surrounding towns attended.

Mrs. Coon, who was studying for a doctorate degree in pharmacy, died Dec. 29 from injuries sustained in an accident on Highway 195 near Spangle. Services were Jan. 6 at Corvallis and Saturday at the Rosalia School. Among survivors are her husband, Jacob, and two daughters.
