Wachters celebrate 50th anniversary

Ron and Barb Wachter, residents of Pullman since 1963, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at Hood River, Ore., Jan. 1, 2011.

Ron and Barb were raised in the Willamette Valley of Oregon.

They met while they were students at Oregon State University and were married Dec. 29, 1960, at Salem, Ore.

He was an employee of First National Bank of Oregon and she taught elementary school while residing in Oregon.

They have been involved in civic, service, political and business adventures in the wheat producing areas of Idaho, Oregon and Washington.
