Two Colfax wrestlers advanced to second day action at the big Clearwater Classic in Lewiston Saturday, but the Bulldogs did not place in the 28 team event.
Cody Evans sustained a dislocated shoulder Saturday and the injury could knock him out for the balance of the season. Evans had compiled a 20-8 mark so far this season with all of the losses to out-of-staters. He was pegged for a high seed in the regionals at Coulee City Feb. 5.
Coach Dennis Gransbery said the team hopes Evans can be cleared for the state elim rounds.
At Lewiston, Evans booked a 1-1 on the first day to advance. He was pinned by T.J. Pagimiada of Shadle Park and pinned Daniel Camacho of Walla Walla. He had to default to David Chapman after the Saturday injury.
Justin King decisioned Danny Randles of Clarkston and lost 2-5 to Casey Enderlin of Hanford in the 171 class. King forfeited to John Wren of Sandpoint.
In the 215 class, Evan Lord was pinned by Logan Reardan of Walla Walla and Jon Caspar of Bonners Ferry
In the frosh tourney at Clarkston, Lord placed fourth after a second meeting with Parker Berman of Ellensburg. Berman, who pinned Lord in their first matchup, pinned him again, but in the last 10 seconds.
Thursday at Wilbur, the Bulldogs booked a 3-2 record.
Evans booked a pin over Tyler Weimerskirch in the first round of the 125 class, and King scored two first-round pins in the 171 class.
