County fills seats on panels

Whitman County commissioners Monday re-stocked seven of the county’s volunteer oversight boards by appointing new members or re-appointing sitting members.

David “Pete” Hertz of Palouse was appointed to a four -year term on the planning commission. Hertz was appointed to the panel late last year to fill out the term of Archie Neal of Garfield.

Darren Jones and Dennis Hatley, both of Pullman, were re-appointed to serve until 2014 on the commission to set salaries for elected officials. Jones, a WSU policeman, fulfills a requirement that a public labor employee serve on the commission. Hatley se...
