Dinner-auction will aid adoption, mission

For the sake of two small children in Ethiopia, a crowd of up to 200 people is expected to attend a church fundraiser at Schweitzer Event Center in Pullman Feb. 12. beginning at 5:30 p.m.

The event will also be raising funds to help send 14 youths and adults from the Colfax Assembly of God on a two-week mission to Swaziland.

A dinner and auction will be hosted by the non-profit No Longer Orphans and Colfax Assembly of God Youth Ministries.

No Longer Orphans is raising funds to help Craig and Caylene Knox of Colfax adopt a brother-sister pair from an orphanage in Ethiopia. The Knox duo hopes to visit the orphanage for the first time in March.

No Longer Orphans has been working with the Knox family since July of 2009 to raise funds for the adoption. Together, they have raised $31,000 of the $36,000 needed to bring the children here.

No Longer Orphans is headed in Colfax by Jill and Matt Ross, a Colfax couple who recently adopted an orphan from Ethiopia.
