Little Angels day care plans pancake feed

Little Angels Child Care of Colfax plans a pancake breakfast Feb. 12 at the United Methodist Church to raise funds and show the public improvements to the center. The breakfast will be served 7 to 10:30 a.m. by day care staff and volunteers from the church. A meal will cost $7 for individuals or $18 for families.

Day care director Stephanie Slayton said the day care is now in compliance with state regulations and has received their regular license.

“We are in 100 percent compliance with the state,” Slayton said.

The day care was cited for 25 violations of state day care guidelines last August and put on a probationary license which will expire Feb. 13.

Funds from the breakfast will help buy new toys and educational materials for pre-school classes which were recently started.

“We’re hoping maybe this will encourage people to come in and look at the center,” Slayton said.
