Colfax girls track Reardan into two-week district run

Colfax girls powered through the last two Bi-County league games over the weekend to nail down the number-two slot in the two-week playoff campaign which will be waged at Mead and Mt. Spokane High Schools. After an 13-3 finish in league play, Coach Corey Baerlocher’s team is booked for a Saturday 1:30 p.m. game at Mead against the winner of the Liberty-Republic game Thursday night.

The 2B district tourney over the next two weeks will qualify three teams for the regional rounds Feb. 25-26. Top two qualifiers will land at University High in the Spokane Valley, and the third-place team will travel to Wenatchee.

Eight state qualifiers will be on the boards at Spokane March 3 to start a three-day run at six state trophies in the 2B.

Reardan Tuesday completed the sweep of the league with a 80-41 pounding of their neighbors from Davenport. Like Colfax, the Indians will be parked tonight and start district play Saturday at Mt. Spokane.

Colfax Saturday ended their home run with a 65-22 win over Liberty. The Bulldogs capped the home show by putting the Lancers on ice for just two points in the second half.
