Colfax High School sophomore Lindsay Webber was selected for the 2011 All-State Symphonic Choir which performed during the Washington Music Educators Association (WMEA) state conference Feb. 17-20 in Bellevue.
Conductor for the WMEA All-State choir was Dr.
James Jordan from Westminster Choir College of Rider University in Princeton, N.J. In addition to being selected for the choir, Lindsay was chosen by Dr.
Jordan to be one of only two soloists.
She sang the soprano one solo in Reflections on Amazing Grace by Roger Ames.
After rehearsing Thursday, Friday and Saturday at Sammamish High School, the choir performed their concert in front of a capacity crowd of more than 2,500 at Benaroya Hall in Seattle, Sunday, Feb 20.
Lindsay’s choir teacher is Carey Cammack.
She is the daughter of Jon and Angie Webber of Colfax.
Mike Morgan, Colfax band director, football coach and athletic director, was one of the invited speakers at the WMEA conference. He talked about breaking down the wall between music and athletics.
