Serving Whitman County since 1877
Uniontown will once again entertain hundreds of guests Sunday for the annual sausage feed at the Community Building from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Volunteers will dole out their famous home-made sausage along with mashed potatoes, green beans, sauerkraut, applesauce, rolls, pie and beverages.
“It’s smoky. People that come to our sausage feed say it’s the best sausage of any feed they go to,” Leslee Miller said, volunteer with the feed.
Nearly 2,000 people enjoy the all-you-can-eat meal each year, with the net proceeds going to maintain the Community Building.
The admission price this year will be $12 for customers 12 and older. The fee will be $8 for children six to 12, and $2 for youngsters under six.
Serving will be done on a first-come, first served format. Take-out meals can be bought with no wait.
Uniontown’s antique stores will be open all day for visitors.
At Dahmen Barn, the quilt exhibit has been extended through Sunday, and artisans will be at work in their studios for visitors to watch. The gift shop carries art and crafts from local artists. Artists will offer their wares from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Locally-produced wares like honey, chocolate and jams will be offered.
“Auf Gets,” the premier German oom-pah band on the Palouse, will give a free concert at Dahmen from 1 to 3 p.m.
“It’s fabulous,” Miller said.
