‘Read Across America’ balancing act

Nichole Kopp of Whitman County Library Youth services assists JES student Eden Workman as she prepares a balancing act for a trip around the “Trick-a-ma-stick.” The library in Colfax joined Jennings Elementary students Tuesday and Wednesday for Read Across America, an annual reading motivation and awareness program that calls for every child in every community to celebrate reading March 2, the birthday of children’s author Dr.

Seuss.

Kopp and the Reading Bear shared Seuss favorites: The Cat In The Hat and Gerald McBoing Boing with several children.

The kids performed balancing games and many obstacles around the Trick-a-ma-stick.
