Albion chief’s home burned by blaze

A pillar of flames shoots out the roof of Albion rural fire chief Randy Farr’s Parvin Road home Tuesday night in the picture at top. The six-alarm fire seriously damaged Farr’s home. Albion fire crews were called out to a chimney fire shortly before 6 p.m. By the time they arrived, the fire had spread upstairs. Rural crews from Colfax, Diamond, Pullman, Palouse and Steptoe were called in to assist. Crews stayed on scene until shortly after 9 p.m. as the stubborn fire smoldered between walls in the upstairs of the home.
