Guske, Madison get degrees
April Guske, LaCrosse, and Adrienne Madison, Tekoa, received Bachelor of Arts degrees in Interdisciplinary studies from Western Governors University at the semi-annual commencement ceremony in Salt Lake City Feb. 12. Western Governors University, founded by 19 U.S. governors, is the only on-line university in the United States offering competency-based degree programs.
Marketing seminar set for Monday
A seminar on marketing grain will be Monday, March 28, at the Clarkston Event Center from 9 a.m. to noon. Mark Gold from Top Third Marketing, Chicago, will discuss grain marketing and indicators for successful marketing. The Clarkston Event Center is located at 841 Sixth Street. Viking ag mech team adds win
The Garfield-Palouse Agricultural Mechanics team carried their previous successes into the district contest recently at Walla Walla Community College. Teams competed at seven stations, machinery systems, energy systems, industry systems, structural systems, environmental systems, a written test and a team activity.
Garfield/Palouse team one placed first. Team members were Chad Redman, J.B. Lange, Blake Slocum, Gage Redman, and Steven Griffin.
Individually Chad Redman placed first, Lange second, and Slocum third.
They will compete next against teams from all over the state at the state contest April 20 in Walla Walla. The winner of the state contest will represent Washington at the national contest next October.
