Stoners will mark golden anniversary

Harry Stoner and Carol Geisler Stoner will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary Saturday, March 26, at the Courtyard in Colfax from 2 to 4 p.m.

at an open house hosted by their children.

Harry and Carol met at Boise Junior College through a mutual friend.

Harry was attending school on a basketball scholarship and Carol was taking classes.

They were married March 25, 1961, in Boise, Idaho, at the home of her sister.

They have lived many places throughout their marriage starting in St. John.

Harry joined the army and was stationed in Germany, Fairchild and Hawaii.

He also attended Officer’s Training School in Oklahoma.

He was honorably discharged in 1968 as a captain.

After living in the Spokane area for several years they moved to Lamont and then to Colfax in 1978.

Carol stayed home to raise a family of nine children and develop her many interests and talents.

Their children are Sheli Gibson, Colfax; Ray Stoner, Spokane; Susan Martin, Colfax; James Stoner, Troy, Idaho; Pam Meserve, Endicott; David Stoner, Colfax; Robert Stoner, stationed at Yokasuku, Japan, and Jeff Stoner, Colfax.

They have 24 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Another daughter, Paula Stoner, died in 1982.
