Studs given another week

Washington State Department of Transportation extended the studded tire deadline until next Thursday, April 7. Officials said winter conditions in the mountains and parts of eastern Washington prompted the extension from the March 31 deadline. The requirement to remove studded tires is to minimize damage done to state roadways. Drivers caught driving with studded tires after April 7 will be ticketed.
