Colfax baseball and softball seasons remained stalled under a general case of the rainout blues with the turf at McDonald Park going into sponge mode.
Latest scratched date was Tuesday when the Bulldogs were booked to open the league run with softball and baseball games at Reardan.
That game date was rolled back to Wednesday, although rains remained Wednesday morning.
Ready for the big scoreboard. Three giant girders have been mounted outside the fence at McDonald Park to support the big scoreboard which Colfax acquired from Gonzaga University. The scoreboard has been painted, and crews are waiting for a break in the weather to get it mounted.
Softball and baseball teams from Kettle Falls have been scheduled for McDonald Park Saturday, but that date appeared to be headed for a scratch as rain continued into the middle of the week. The McDonald fields need probably two dry days to be playable.
Colfax last Wednesday did get a baseball game in at Asotin and were pounded 14-3 by the Panthers over five innings. Asotin had an 8-3 lead after three innings and stacked on six more runs in the next inning.
Asotin totaled 11 hits off Colfax pitchers Alex Teade and Tyler McNannay.
Brady Ellis had two of the five Colfax hits. McNannay, Connor Appel and John Mellor had the other hits.
