Colton, St. John/Endicott and Tekoa/Oakesdale/Rosalia Tuesday booked double wins as the weather cleared off for baseball action. Colton’s trip to Pomeroy went down as wins in the 1B competition after the Wildcats battled 2B clubs earlier in the week.

Colton opened Tuesday with an 11-6 win over the Pirates with Josh Straughan fanning 11 Pirates over six innings. Jake Straughan finished.

The Wildcats led 7-2 after five frames and capped it with four more in the top of the seventh. Jake Straughan had three of the Colton hits in the opener and Josh Straughan had two.

Senior Taylor Spence fanned 15 Pirates in the second game on the way to a 12-7 win. Pomeroy pegged a 7-6 lead after two innings, but they were blanked for the balance.

Josh Straughan had three of the nine hits with a double and triple. Jake Reidner and Justin Meyer each had two hits.

TEKOA/OAKESDALE/ROSALIA moved their record to 5-2 Tuesday with a pair of wins over Asotin at the Rosalia field. The Spartans won the first game 11-7 with Flash Hodges striking out six and allowing five hits.

Coach Rob Hudkins noted TOR Tuesday pulled off big innings to get both the wins.

The Wildcats played part of the day with just eight players on the field. They suited 10 but Jake Reidner had to take a college entrance exam during part of the action and Holdan Druffel was ejected.
